Minninglow Embankment 1967
Minninglow Embankment 1967
A view across the splendid limestone faced embankment which took the Cromford and High Peak railway across a small dry valley. In 1967, when this image was taken, the track was awaiting lifting, the last train having passed this way some little time before. To cycle over this embankment nowadays and pause to look over the edge gives a wonderful view of the stone masons' art without use of mortar.
