Hopton Wood Branch and Hopton Tunnel Spring 1967
Hopton Wood Branch and Hopton Tunnel Spring 1967
Not long after the last excursion train had passed. A view looking over the Via Gellia road bridge to the Hopton Tunnel in the distance. The branch veering off to the left was Hopton Wood Quarry sidings, and was originally worked by a winding engine to pull waggons up the steeply graded spur; later locos were used. The actual date of the photograph is not recorded - merely Spring 1967.
