TR0042 : Tank in Ashford

near to Ashford, Kent, Great Britain

Tank in Ashford
Tank in Ashford
A tank in the centre of Ashford, Kent. One of the presentational tanks that were dispatched around the country.
I believe it's a Lincoln Mark IV Tank from the First World War. Apparently this is a "female" tank, as it was fitted with machine guns rather than 6 pounders.
Note recent paint job - looks great.
First arrived in 1919 see link: LinkExternal link
A model of the tank can be found in the Ashford Borough Museum.
