Cross drains, Scotts Dod
Cross drains, Scotts Dod
Drainage ditches across a wet hillside. This practice has been blamed for increasing flooding by allowing quick run off from moorland. York in particular has been implicated as a victim of Pennine drainage schemes. The water here is desutined for Glasgow, via the Clyde - or Motherwell via a water board aqueduct.
