SO3015 : Terraced housing on Ross Road, AbergavennyNew Junction CottagesThese terraced houses were built in 1870 when Abergavenny Junction station was moved about a third of a mile north from its original site at the junction of the Merthyr, Tredegar & Abergavenny Railway with the Newport to Hereford line of the Great Western Railway.
The MT&AR (better known as the Heads of the Valleys line) had been leased and operated ever since its opening in 1862 by the London & North Western Railway and was absorbed by it in 1866. It was closed as a through route at the beginning of 1958.
