TL4759 : South door of The Leper Chapel

South door of The Leper Chapel
South door of The Leper Chapel
The 12th-century St Mary Magdalene was originally the chapel of a nearby Leper Hospital. "Its architectural value is high," wrote Nikolaus Pevsner. The round-headed doors and very narrow windows have zig-zag voussoirs. Brilliant morning sunshine after an evening of snow accentuated the subtle colours of flint, freestone and clay tiles.
