North Wootton: postbox № DT9 30
North Wootton's postbox is an Elizabeth II-reign specimen, of a design meant to be strapped to a lamppost but in this case set into a brick pillar. The pillar has, in its triangular section, a very worn inscription which is almost illegible now. I did make out the words 'Queen Victoria' and a work beginning with J which could be January or Jubilee, or something else entirely.

The box is emptied at 12:45pm on weekdays and at 10:30am on Saturdays.
