The parishioners buried in the old church of All Saints taken down in 1865, and commemorated on this cross erected in 1880, are: Thomas d'Aye, Richard Bassett, William Tireman, James Gifford, William Norfolk, John Forlow, John Carter, Robert Painter, William Beales; Miriam, Charlotte and Mary Drage-Browne; Henry Rowe, Alexander Scott Abbott, Elliott Macro Smith and William Porcher.

James Gifford was Mayor of Cambridge in 1757 and gave his name to nearby TL4458 : Gifford Place, where he had a house.
