The Silk Road, Tytherington, Macclesfield
The A523 bypass of Macclesfield town centre was so named after popular consultation and recognises the town historic connection with that branch of the textile industry. The footbridge is constructed of laminated timber for all the structural elements and was, when built, the largest of its type anywhere and having the longest free span. See also: Link
