Viaduct, Castle Street, Manchester
A dramatic interplay of structures, two skewed bridges crossing the Rochdale Canal and (behind the wall) Castle Street. The Gothic bridges have cusped tracery in the spandrels and a castellated hexagonal pier between them. They probably date to 1849 when the railway was built (Deansgate station is just ahead).
