The Swan Hotel (1), 21 Acre End Street, Eynsham
As well as being an hotel offering accommodation, the Swan Hotel, with its sports and lounge bars, is generally counted as being one of Eynsham's eight surviving pubs. There were nine until 2009, when The Star in Witney Road closed, to be replaced by new housing. The Swan Hotel also offers food, including to non-residents. It was in business by 1720, as a coaching inn, as in the past the main road to Oxford came through the village. Just past the road sign, on the left, is the entrance to Station Road, although the village lost its railway connection decades ago, when Dr Beeching's Report led to the closure of the branch line to Witney.
