Tilgate Lake (Campbell Lake)

Tilgate Lake is one of three recreational lakes in Tilgate Park. It was once a mediaeval hammer pond linked to the iron industry, but now is purely ornamental. Campbell Lake is due to its association with Sir Malcolm Campbell, who conducted floatation tests on this lake.

Tilgate Park

Tilgate Park is a large park in Crawley purchased by the Borough Council in 1960.
