TQ1751 : Trees by the Zigzags, Box Hill

taken 6 years ago, near to Westhumble, Surrey, Great Britain

Trees by the Zigzags, Box Hill
Trees by the Zigzags, Box Hill
This is the first hair-pin bend for vehicles climbing the hill. The trees on either side are hawthorns - but I'm not enough of a botanist to identify the beetroot-coloured growth in the foreground.

Photo taken in dismal late-afternoon light, with rain threatening.
