Emblems of the Old Town
Moubray House and John Knox's House symbolise the Old Town of Edinburgh more than most dwellings because of their exceptional age and character. They have both survived attempts to demolish them at different times—first by an army of Henry VIII, then by Edinburgh City Council—but thankfully owe their continued existence to the work of the conservation society, the Cockburn Association.
