River Wharfe - exit 'The Strid'
On this day of spate, we see the waters of the River Wharfe, almost at the exit of this terrible but awesome torrent, which as hour glassed at fearful Knots through this very deep/long ancient Millstone Grit cutting known as 'The Strid'. The Strid obviously is very dangerous in and out of spate, but a wondrous sight to safely view and hear its tremendous roar!
