Artifact in the ruins of Dr. Johnson's Cottage
This grille was once a part of the grate or fire in either the upstairs bedroom or the downstairs living room, more likely the former. No doubt Dr. Johnson stoked the coals through it as he prepared for an evening indoors during his visit here in the 1770's.
