Princes Street, Edinburgh (1)
Taken in August 1969, this photo shows Princes Street looking eastwards from the Scott Monument. The madder and white bus in the foreground is a Leyland Atlantean with Alexander 74-seater bodywork dating from 1967. It is operated by Edinburgh Corporation Transport on route 12 to Broomhouse on the western outskirts of the city. The same route is now operated by ECT's successor, Lothian Buses between Seafield and Gyle Centre via the City Centre. Tram Lines have recently been fixed into Princes Street for the proposed light rapid transit system in Edinburgh.
