Poole: base of a sail on the Twin Sails Bridge

The Twin Sails Bridge, the new lifting bridge over the channel into Holes Bay which will work in conjunction with the existing Poole Bridge, opened today for pedestrians. It was due to open to vehicles this coming Monday but that has been delayed for a short time.

Here we take a close look at the base of one of the sails, in its up position, along the line of studs separating the main vehicle carriageway and the cycle lane.
