A fallen beech in Knighton Wood
A fallen beech in Knighton Wood
Knighton Wood was once the wooded garden of a local house. As a result, it has various exotic trees and ponds (see LinkExternal link. Despite being surrounded now by the suburbs of Woodford Wells and Woodford Green, it has a few rarely visited areas. This mighty fallen beech (known to me as “the Serpent”), is hidden behind holly and brambles, no more than 130m from the nearest road and scarcely 30m from a well trodden path.
