taken 6 years ago, near to Dowally, Perth And Kinross, Great Britain

Reinstated dry stone wall
Reinstated dry stone wall
The white concrete post on the other side of the wall indicates the path of the buried penstock pipe of the Dowally Hydro-Electric Scheme.
The dry stone wallers for the reinstated wall are much inferior to the original builders.
Dowally Hydro-Electric Scheme
This is a 'run-of-river' scheme where water is extracted from the Dowally Burn at an old abandoned dam, the intake; carried down the hillside alongside the watercourse in a pipeline or penstock; to the powerhouse housing the turbine, generator, transformer and switching units with a connection to the national grid; and finally the water returns to the burn in the tailrace.
This scheme passes from NO0148 through NO0147 to NO0047 .
