NN6743 : Meall Greigh north top
4 km from Invervar, Perth And Kinross, Great Britain

Meall Greigh north top.
The original photo came out blue, but I have produced a grey scale version to show what the scene looked like to the eye.(Usually my monchromes are taken in red light).
The east face of the hill has big deposits of windslab, snow blown far on the wind and deposited on a lee slope. It had a grey matt appearance, highlighting the white of the cornices. Windslab is highly dangerous. It is poorly bonded to the snow below and easily avalanches. There was a safe and easy way up however, along an area swept clear by the wind.
