St Mary's Kirkyard
This graveyard on the northwest side of St Mary’s Loch is the site of the former St Mary’s Chapel. The annual blanket preaching service held here in July is thought to have originated during Covenanting times in the 17th century when ministers held a blanket over their head in bad weather. This was viewed from Bowerhope Law. For a closer view of the graveyard, see NT2523 : St Mary's Graveyard.
