Cross and spring, Calmsden
14th-century cross shaft and cross shaft base made of Cotswold limestone. The pentagonal base comprises four steps (here seen with a remembrance wreath) rising up to a pentagonal cross shaft base
into which is set a tapering hexagonal cross shaft with a cube at
its apex. A spring issues from a stone spout into two cast iron
troughs immediately below the cross. The water is perfectly clear and drinkable.
