One of many gates through the small fields at the head of the Vale of Edale. The embankment at the end of the next field is by a by a shaft above the Cowburn tunnel, towards the eastern end. The slopes beyond rise to Rushup Edge, with the diagonal line of the Chapel Gate track clearly seen.
