Bishop of Winchester's Purlieu, Woodfidley Passage, New Forest
Looking north from the raised footpath, this view contains the main features of this boggy heathland grid square. On the horizon to the left are a pair of bronze-age round barrows. The ponies are grazing on the greener foliage growing in the wetter area. The earthworks of the Bishop's Dyke can just be made out running across the heathland behind the ponies but in front of the barrows. In the foreground is knee-high bracken growing alongside the path, on an area that has recently been cleared of conifers.
