Bull Meadow occupies the little valley of the (culverted) Larkbeare Brook outside the city walls, and this view looks up the western slope to what was the West of England Eye Infirmary. The rather austere brick and terracotta exterior, dating from 1901, disguises the fact that the Barcelona became Design Hotel of the Year 2002 for its imaginative interior.
