Upper Hodder Valley - Bowland Fells
Upper Hodder Valley - Bowland Fells
The higher reaches of the River Hodder with Catlow Fell on the left sloping down towards the snaking river. The narrow scenic fell road can be seen as a thin line on the fell side of Catlow. To the left (north) this road leads towards the high summit of Cross of Greet (stone) and beyond to the villages of High and Low Bentham, seven and half miles from the Cross of Greet Bridge (bridge off pic short distance to right). Likewise to the right (south) towards the village of Slaidburn, four and half miles beyond said bridge. The distant summit on the right is the trig point of Bowland Knotts, which also just beyond has a magnificent scenic narrow fell road.
