Ely Cathedral
A monastery was established in 673 by St. Æthelthryth, (romanised as "Etheldreda"), daughter of the Anglo-Saxon King Anna of East Anglia. Although destroyed in the 9th century the monastery was re-established in 970 and dedicated as a cathedral in 1109.
