TQ1556 : The River Mole, downstream from Leatherhead
near to Leatherhead, Surrey, Great Britain

The River Mole, downstream from Leatherhead
Looking upstream towards Leatherhead, and Mole Business Park. Even in late February the water level is low, following a long period of below average rainfall, and an area of gravelly river-bed is exposed. The trees along the far bank of the river are mostly crack willows - formerly pollarded. The tree on the near bank is an alder, distinctive even at this range.
The area is managed as a local nature reserve.
