Boultham Hall & Park
The 1200-acre Boultham estate was given by Richard Ellison to his son, Lt.Colonel R.G. Ellison on his marriage in 1830. The surviving estate lodges are dated 1846, the gardens were enhanced by The Lake in 1851 and the Hall was rebuilt in 1874. The Ellisons sold the estate in 1913 and the hall was used as a military hospital during WW1. Lincoln City Council bought the estate in 1929 and the gardens were laid out as a public park. The rest of the estate was used for housing land and unable to find a suitable use for the hall, it was finally demolished in 1959.
