Lincoln, Pelham Street level-crossing
View NNE to Broadgate, over the infamous crossing near the east end of Lincoln Central station - visible on the left: ex-GN, GC and GN&GE Joint major junction. (See SK9770 : Southbound express leaving Lincoln Central Station, with same engine leaving on an express, also SK9770 : LNE B1 4-6-0 at Pelham Street crossing, Lincoln, for more detail, in a very similar view taken nine years earlier). Here we see one of several crossing keepers struggling with one of the double gates, as a scooter slips past while Thompson B1 4-6-0 No. 61326 (built 6/48, withdrawn 3/66) bears down from the station. This was five years before the Pelham Flyover was built.
