SN7867 : Overflow from Llyn Hir

taken 6 years ago, 5 km from Ffair-Rhos, Ceredigion/Sir Ceredigion, Great Britain

Overflow from Llyn Hir
Overflow from Llyn Hir
Llyn Hir and its downstream neighbour Llyn y Gorlan are almost at the same altitude LinkExternal link . As a result, only some of the water from the higher lake actually flows through the natural channel connecting the two. Much of the water seeps into the moorland to the southeast of Llyn Hir, particularly when driven by northwesterly winds as at this time.
