Despite the continuing high closure rate of pubs, there are still a few new ones opening each year. Provided good people are running them who will give the public want they want, pubs old or new can be a great success. The Old Ticket Office is a case in point. It opened late in 2011 using the old station building on the west side of the railway line. An excellent job has been made of the conversion, which has resulted in a pub with restaurant, which seems to be drawing in a lot of people of various ages.
