Kirkhope Law is on the long ridge up from Peebles to Birkscairn Hill. There is a popular path, an old drove road along the ridge. A path in the foreground connects with this giving a well known mountain bike circuit.

The vegetation boundary between the trees and clear fell in Cardrona Forest shows up well on the 1:25,000 OS map as a ride.
