Ewloe Castle, Flintshire
The historical details of this castle are not very clear, but it is believed to have been built in 1275 by Llywelyn ap Gruffydd. Whereas the large well-known castles of North Wales were built by the English King Edward I, this is a good example of a Welsh castle. For an excellent website and better pictures, see Link
The castle is now part of Wepre park and they are both well worth a visit, and free.
