NT5453 : Gate above Longcroft

taken 12 years ago, 4 km from Oxton, Scottish Borders, Great Britain

Gate above Longcroft
Gate above Longcroft
Lyle Hill and the southern end of Peat hill have been improved, won from the moors. The improved land is used for cattle grazing in summer. Now home to pheasants, partridges and moles.
The 1:25 000 map is rather out of date/wrong here, tracks shown no longer exist, many newish ones missing and several well established boundary fences missing. Take care in mist.
