The porch, Church of St John the Evangelist, Wotton
I like the fancy carving of the bargeboards. The porch dates from the 19th century, whereas the tower, behind, is the oldest part of the church, said by Pevsner to be early Norman. Almost the entire church seems to have been built of local Bargate stone (all except the Evelyn mausoleum at the NE corner, which is brick). Nonetheless, the difference between medieval and 19th century work is clear in this shot - the masonry of the tower being much rougher than the neat Victorian work of the porch.
