The Penrhydd Tank Incline
The Penrhydd Tank Incline
The tank inclines, known to the workers as 'gelltydd tanc', and designated B, were internal inclines linking two or more galleries. The A and C inclines on the other hand ran almost the full height of the quarry. The tank incline shown here linked Ponc Penrhydd with Ponc Ffeiar Injan. One of tanks, on which the trucks rode, can be seen at the bottom of the first pitch.
