near to Cornforth, County Durham, Great Britain

Down 'Queen of Scots' at Metal Bridge, north of Ferryhill
View south, towards Ferryhill, Darlington etc. on the ECML. Unimpressive with a dirty locomotive lacking the express's headboard, the 'Queen of Scots' Pullman left King's Cross at 12.00 and has come via Leeds (reverse) and Harrogate - rather than York, then Darlington, call at Newcastle and Edinburgh, terminating at Glasgow Queen Street at 21.12. The locomotive is Gresley V2 No. 60975 (built 9/43 as No. 3687 (No. 975 from 1946), withdrawn 9/66).
