NY2816 : High Tove

taken 12 years ago, near to Watendlath, Cumbria, Great Britain

High Tove
High Tove
This is the summit of the pass from Watendlath to Armboth, which would have been more important in the days before the damming of Thirlmere barred its onward continuation. Unusually, a pass between two valleys goes over the summit of a fell - all the surrounding land is too boggy to be practicable.
