Launceston Castle
Launceston Castle is a prominent feature and visible from the surrounding landscape. The castledates from the Norman Conquest, and at its core is an unusual round 13th century which was built by Richard, Earl of Cornwall. For a time the castle served as a prison, one of its prisoners in 1656 was George Fox, founder of the Quakers.
