TA1203 : Pelham's Pillar

taken 11 years ago, near to Cabourne, Lincolnshire, Great Britain

Pelham's Pillar
Pelham's Pillar
The pillar commemorates Charles Anderson-Pelham, Lord Yarborough, who was responsible for planting twelve and a half million trees on his Brocklesby estate over a thirty six year period. His son laid the foundation stone and the construction was completed by the grandson. There are still extensive woodlands in the surrounding area.
