TG1543 : End of the national rail network at Sheringham
near to Sheringham, Norfolk, Great Britain

End of the national rail network at Sheringham
After 33 years of isolation, the original Sheringham Station, now operated by the North Norfolk Railway, has been reconnected to the national network. Work started to reinstate the connection in 2007 but was not completed until 2010. It is not intended that the connection will see regular use but rather occasional special trains and limited stock movements. So, unfortunately, network trains will continue to use the single platform 'halt' on the east side of station approach, rather than progressing into the more substantial original station.
