NT3267 : River North Esk

taken 12 years ago, near to Eskbank, Midlothian, Great Britain

River North Esk
River North Esk
Shopping trolley in its natural habitat taken from the high Esk Viaduct, that carried the Waverley Line over the deep valley. There is only one arch, unlike the monster bridge over the South Esk at Newbattle. The river is red due to iron (III) salts leached out of old coal mines.
