Charlecote Mill - the bin floor
The two wooden 'tubes' in the centre house the belt driving the sack hoist via the wheel near the top of the frame. Through the portal formed by this assembly, one can see the white sack just coming through the two doors that form a trap door. The sack started its journey two floors below and the young boy operating the hoist is listening for the second slam as the door close below the rising sack. At this point he will release the friction drive and the sack will fall back onto the closed doors. I've described this process many times but this is the first time I've caught a sack in 'flight'.
