Cocoons of Brown-tail moth
Cocoons of Brown-tail moth
This species of moth overwinters as larvae within a tough, silken tent. Here they are abundant and are on the Sea Buckthorn. The caterpillars have barbed hairs which can cause a nasty rash; they should be avoided.
