Canary Wharf from Greenwich Park, 1997: telephoto shot
Canary Wharf from Greenwich Park, 1997: telephoto shot
At this time only one skyscraper had been built at Canary Wharf (One Canada Square, the tallest building in the complex and at that stage generally just known as "Canary Wharf") and it stood in splendid, relative, isolation.
In the foreground, the old Greenwich power station.
A version of this shot through a normal lens, taking in much more of the photographer's location and indicating how far away the tower blocks actually are, can be seen at TQ3977 : Canary Wharf from Greenwich Park, 1997.
