Storms had recently caused the collapse of a bridge (NS4483 : Site of destroyed Gallangad Bridge). The farms in NS4583 would have been almost inaccessible (for vehicles) were it not for the NS4483 : Road to Gallangad Farm which branches off to the right.

The buildings of NS4484 : Balquhain Farm can be seen in the background.
