The garden is arranged by the condition or area which has been trated by the plants. There are beds for breathing, skin, digestion,head, heart and love, immunisation, stress, joints, ant-cancer, women's herbs. The nearest bed on the left of the photo is for joints. Plants in it include dyer's woodruff and hemlock - there are notices warning that some plants may be poisonous. The nearest central bed has anti-cancer plants including artichoke and periwinkle. The herb garden was established in 1969 to a design by Graham Stuart Thomas.
