The Kelham Island Museum
The Kelham Island Museum
Kelham Island Museum ( LinkExternal link ) was opened in 1982 to house the objects, pictures and archive material representing Sheffield's industrial heritage. It is on the site of John Crowley's Iron Foundry which was built on the site in 1829 and remained until replaced by a power station, in 1899, to provide electricity for the new fleet of trams in the city. These are the premises now occupied by the museum ( LinkExternal link Wikipedia)
